
Certifications
Grand Master Marvil began his training in 1978 as an 11 year old. His parents enrolled him to provide him with more discipline in order to control his behavior and anger issues. After a short time he fell in love with the art of Tang Soo Do. Grand Master Marvil began competing as a green belt in 1979 and has since won hundreds of awards including sweeping the 1988 Tang Soo Do World Championship with 1st place in forms, weapons, sparring and creativity events. He began his professional teaching career as a 2nd Dan in 1985. In 1986 he was recruited to become the Chief Instructor of the World Tang Soo Do Association Headquarters where he taught through 1991. Beginning in 1992 Grand Master Marvil began his journey as a studio owner eventually building 5 studios throughout the the Philadelphia area. That same year he earned his 4th Dan Master Instructor certification. Over the past 35 years he has trained thousands of students with over 500 of them earning the coveted rank of Black Belt. He continues to work to build the next generation of black belts and instructors to continue the art of Tang Soo Do.
Currently Grand Master Marvil hold the rank of 7th Dan and has 2 locations in Newtown Square, PA and Chichester, PA. Additionally he is the president of the Jeonsa Tang Soo Do Federation overseeing the quality and promotion of the art throughout the country.
